While talking about Movies we must know certain vocabulary to make our conversations more effective:

After watching movies:

How was the movie?

Answers: 
The movie was amazing.
An excellent movie.
The movie was fantastic.
The movie was hilarious/ The movie was heartwarming (if you watched a comedy)
The cinematography was breathtaking. (while talking about the art of photography in film-making) 
The movie was so scary/It made my blood run cold.  (if you watched a horror movie)
The plot was interesting. (plot means storyline of the movie or the concept)
The special effects were incredible.( while talking about the camerawork, computer graphics etc.)
It was watching the grass grow/ It was extremely boring (if you did not like the movie)
It gave me food for thought/It was extremely thought-provoking. ( if the movie is really a great movie and gave you some interesting ideas or good messages.)


Movie Vocabulary:

Types of movies:

1) Romantic (Love, romance, feelings)
2) Romance comedy/ Romcom (Love, romance, passion and Humour)
3) Action/Thriller (Fighting scenes, lots of suspense) 
4) Horror (Scary movies, spooky effects, terrible, panic)
5)Documentary (Small real event movies and non-fiction movies based on real events)
6) Animated (character with moving objects with special effects)
7) Science Fiction ( Science depiction, alien worlds, spacecraft) 
8) Fantasy (myth, wonder)

Some other movie vocabulray 

Veteran: versatile, experienced
Casting: (The whole group of actors), i.e. the performance of the star cast was brilliant.
Dubbed: (A movie released worldwide in different languages).
Cinematography (Art of photography in film -making)
Subtitles (dialogues written at bottom of the screen in English)
Trailer or Flicker (summary of the movie with best scenes, best songs, and dialogues)
Sequel: (Movies with series, or with several parts, story continues as several parts)
Cameo (guest appearance or special appearance of a big actor with a noticeable role)
Block -buster ( an excellent movie)
Box-office: (commercial success of a film or actor in terms of the audience size or takings, for example, The movie was a huge box-office hit.)
Bombed: Failed really very bad
Superhit (extremely popular)
Flop (be completely unsuccessful or, fail totally)
Usher (the person who shows us our seats) 
Interval (a short break)
